We’re only 2 weeks into the SEC season, but the cream of the crop from the conference is clearly starting to separate itself from the rest of the pack.

Though the Big Ten and Pac-12 have yet to begin their 2020 seasons, there’s still plenty of information to go off of for the rest of the country.

On Sunday morning, former FSU QB-turned-analyst Danny Kanell updated his top 8 rankings. As you can see below, he has Alabama at No. 1, Florida at No. 3 and Georgia at No. 5:

He has a pretty big gap between No. 6 and No. 7, and at this point, that seems fair. In a few weeks, Ohio State and perhaps others from the Big Ten will slide into those spots.

For now, though, this is a good look at where things stand with potential contenders for the College Football Playoff.
