David Pollack explains why Playoff shouldn't expand: 'It would just be beatdown after beatdown'
There’s a debate about whether the College Football Playoff should expand to 8 teams or remain at 4, and it is heating up.
However, not everyone thinks the Playoff should expand, and ESPN analyst David Pollack is in that group.
During a radio appearance with Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, Pollack said an 8-team Playoff this year would have hardly any competitive games:
Should the @CFBPlayoff expand? @davidpollack47 tells Coach K why that might not be the best idea.

“If you look at this year, just right now, would you really want to see an 8-team Playoff?” Pollack asked. “I know I wouldn’t. There wouldn’t be very many competitive games at all. It would just be beatdown after beatdown.”
There seems to be lots of momentum going toward an 8-team Playoff, but nothing has been established yet. We’ll see what happens over the next couple of years.
