Deion Sanders comments on reported death threats toward Colorado State player
Deion Sanders took some time to address the death threats have been reportedly directed at Colorado State’s Henry Blackburn.
Blackburn and his family say they have been receiving threats in the aftermath of Blackburn’s late hit on Colorado star Travis Hunter on Saturday.
Sanders said Blackburn was “just playing the game” and should not be receiving threats. Sanders also said he forgives Blackburn for the hit. Here are his comments, via ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg:
“He made a tremendous hit on Travis on the sideline. You could call it dirty, you could call it he was just playing the game. But … it does not constitute that he should be receiving death threats. This is still a young man trying to make it.
“He does not deserve a death threat over a game. Very unfortunate. I’m sad. If there’s any of our fans, that’s on the other side of those threats, I would hope and pray not, but that kid was just playing the best of his ability. He made a mistake. So I forgive him.”

Hunter is expected to miss multiple weeks as he recovers from the hit, Sanders said earlier this week.
Colorado will face Oregon this week at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
