Deion Sanders to the NFL? Shaq makes case for Coach Prime to lead 1 NFL team
Deion Sanders has done incredible work at Jackson State in his short time with the Tigers.
In 2022, he’s bringing in the nation’s No. 1 overall recruit — DB Travis Hunter — along with some other elite prospects.
But, will he even be the coach at Jackson State this fall? NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal said during a recent episode of “The Big Podcast With Shaq” that he thinks the Dallas Cowboys should bring Sanders in to replace Mike McCarthy (via TMZ):
“I’m putting this out right now,” Shaq said. “Deion Sanders is the next head coach for the Cowboys. Jerry Jones, this message is from Shaquille O’Neal Incorporated, Deion Sanders for the next coach to Cowboys. “You want the Dallas back rocking. Bring Deion to the fold. Deion will hold those players accountable. Deion Sanders for the next Cowboys coach. Put it out, Tweet it, damnit. TikTok it, Instagram it, OnlyFans it, put it out.”
Sanders played for the Cowboys during his storied NFL career. But, it would be a huge jump to go from the FCS ranks to the NFL.
Sanders has also been mentioned as a candidate for some major Power 5 openings in recent years. We’ll see if that’s the route Coach Prime takes in the coming years, but his coaching star is certainly shining bright these days.
