Our Week 4 College Football Picks

Andrew Olson

Keon Coleman, Florida State: Higher than 0.5 rushing+receiving touchdowns

Coleman did not register a catch in FSU’s narrow win over Boston College. Expect Mike Norvell and Jordan Travis to make sure Coleman gets plenty of touches on Saturday. Against LSU, Coleman showed up in a big way for a big game. I expect him to bounce back in style from last week’s no show.

Payton Thorne, Auburn: Higher than 172.5 passing yards

Texas A&M gave up 374 passing yards to Tyler Van Dyke and the Miami Hurricanes. Thorne hasn’t been asked to do much through the air this season, but Hugh Freeze will likely want to test an Aggie defense that could not stop the Miami passing attack.

Xavier Legette, South Carolina: Higher than 0.5 rushing+receiving TDs

Legette is South Carolina’s leading receiver so far this season. He has just 1 receiving touchdown, but Mississippi State presents a good opportunity to make it 2. The Bulldogs got torched by the LSU passing attack, and the Gamecocks should similarly feast.

Adam Spencer

Payton Thorne, Auburn: Higher than 1.5 passing TDs

I’m going to piggyback off of one of Andy’s picks above. If Thorne is going to have a big day against a struggling Texas A&M secondary, he’s going to have to find the end zone a couple of times, too. I’ll take him to throw for at least 2 touchdowns on Saturday.

Evan Stewart, Texas A&M: Higher than 0.5 rushing+receiving TDs

Give me Stewart to find the end zone once again. He missed last week with injury, but if he is back in action this weekend, I like him to catch his third touchdown of the season. He’s an NFL receiver in terms of talent. That’ll need to shine through on Saturday.

Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss: Higher than 237.5 passing yards

Get your popcorn ready! Is this the time Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin finally beats Nick Saban? It’s more possible now than ever. Dart has had a strong start to the season and the Rebels could potentially take advantage of a struggling Alabama squad. I expect him to have a big day throwing the ball at the very least.

Our Week 3 NFL Picks

Andrew Olson

Dameon Pierce, Houston Texans: Higher than 43.5 rushing yards

Pierce is due for a 2023 breakout game. He established himself as a hard runner with a strong motor in his rookie season. The Texans are traveling to Jacksonville in Week 3. Perhaps a return to the home of the Cocktail Party helps the former Gator get going.

Joshua Dobbs, Arizona Cardinals: Lower than 19.5 completions

The Dallas Cowboys defense has been dominant, allowing just 214 passing yards through 2 games. Arizona will be at home, but it feels like a lot to ask of Dobbs, a journeyman filling in during an injury, considering the matchup.

Adam Spencer

Keenan Allen, Los Angeles Chargers: Higher than 6.5 receptions

Allen had 8 catches on 10 targets for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns last week against the Tennessee Titans. The Titans have a much better defense than the Vikings, who the Chargers play this weekend. I like Allen to have another big game, with at least 7 catches and close to (if not more than) 100 yards again.

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings: Higher than 7.5 receptions

Like I said above, this is going to be a shootout. The Chargers and Vikings should provide a thrilling game, so why not take Jefferson to snag at least 8 passes? Kirk Cousins will look for the best receiver in football early and often. Jefferson will have another huge day.
