The 2020 SEC season is entering its stretch run. Week 9 just finished up, and we’re heading toward the final 2 weeks of the originally scheduled regular season (Dec. 12 and Dec. 19 will be used as makeup dates for many teams).

By now, though, we have a good idea of where each SEC team stands in terms of the postseason picture.

After Saturday’s action, ESPN experts Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach updated their bowl projections. As you can see below, they picked Alabama to make the College Football Playoff. A total of 13 SEC schools (everyone but Vanderbilt) were projected to play this postseason:

Alabama

  • Schlabach: Sugar Bowl (CFP) vs. Notre Dame

Arkansas

  • Bonagura: Texas Bowl vs. Oklahoma State
  • Schlabach: Outback Bowl vs. Indiana

Auburn

  • Bonagura: Citrus Bowl vs. Northwestern
  • Schlabach: Citrus Bowl vs. Northwestern

Florida

  • Bonagura: Orange Bowl vs. Miami
  • Schlabach: Orange Bowl vs. Miami

Georgia

  • Bonagura: Peach Bowl vs. Cincinnati
  • Schlabach: Peach Bowl vs. Cincinnati

Kentucky

  • Bonagura: Liberty Bowl vs. West Virginia
  • Schlabach: Music City Bowl vs. Wisconsin

LSU

  • Bonagura: Outback Bowl vs. Indiana

Mississippi State
