ESPN, Fox and Warner are planning to launch a sports-only streaming service this fall.

That news was officially announced by the networks on Tuesday afternoon. Per a press release, subscribers would have access to more than a dozen channels that own broadcast live sports, including: ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SECN, ACCN, ESPNEWS, ABC, FOX, FS1, FS2, BTN, TNT, TBS, truTV and ESPN+.

“The launch of this new streaming sports service is a significant moment for Disney and ESPN, a major win for sports fans, and an important step forward for the media business,” Disney CEO Bob Iger said in the release. “This means the full suite of ESPN channels will be available to consumers alongside the sports programming of other industry leaders as part of a differentiated sports-centric service. I’m grateful to Jimmy Pitaro and the team at ESPN, who are at the forefront of innovating on behalf of consumers to create new offerings with more choice and greater value.”

Each of the networks will own one-third of the new service and have equal board representation, per the announcement. A price point for subscribers has not yet been announced.

This is significant news for college football fans. With the SEC moving on ESPN in 2024, this could ultimately be the most cost-effective way for fans of SEC programs to watch their teams on a weekly basis. It could be a bit more complicated for fans of the Big Ten, as that league has a media rights deal with Fox, CBS and NBC. As of now, CBS and NBC are not part of this new venture.

Fans of other sports could also benefit from this bundling. NBA games regularly appear on Disney’s family of networks as well as TNT. ESPN and Fox both have media deals with Major League Baseball. The offerings from this service are expected to include events from the NFL, NHL, NASCAR, UFC, PGA Tour and the World Cup, in addition to college sports.

More details, such as the name of the service and its official launch date, are expected to announced at a later date.
