ESPN released its midseason All-America team, and writer Mark Schlabach had an interesting nugget about it.

Not one player on the 2021 ESPN Midseason All-America team was included on the All-America team at the end of the 2020 season. For the SEC, 7 players made the team, while Alabama had 3 selections, and Georgia had 2.

Overall, it’s a story of new faces, even though several of the national championship contenders are the same teams as years past. Schlabach spread the wealth, and wrote, “Overall, the 24 players selected on offense, defense and special teams come from 20 different teams.”

Here are the players from the SEC who made the team:

  • Bryce Young, QB, Alabama
  • Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
  • Eli Cox, OG, Kentucky
  • Jordan Davis, DT, Georgia
  • Tre Williams, DE, Arkansas
  • Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
  • Will Anderson, LB, Alabama
