ESPN updates its Heisman Watch after Week 5 of SEC season
Alabama and Clemson have dominated the College Football Player era. That postseason rivalry may extend to the Heisman Trophy in 2020.
After the latest college football Saturday, Week 5 of the SEC season, ESPN.com’s college football writers updated the site’s Heisman Watch. The Tide and Tigers have two candidates apiece in the latest top 6.
Clemson teammates Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne bookend the list at Nos. 1 and 6. UA teammates Mac Jones and Najee Harris check in at Nos. 2 and 5. With Big Ten football back, Ohio State QB is No. 3. BYU QB Zach Wilson checks in at No. 4.

To get the final rankings, we use the following methodology: 15 voters, five votes each. Points system: five points for first-place votes, four points for second-place votes, three points for third-place votes, two points for fourth-place votes and one point for fifth-place votes.
