ESPN’s FPI is slightly favoring one team over the other in Texas A&M-Tennessee.

Tennessee and Texas A&M meet up in Knoxville during Week 7. The Vols are winners of two straight while the Aggies lost to Alabama 26-20 in their last game. Texas A&M is 3-1 in its last four outings.

The FPI is predicting a close game, but believes Tennessee will pull away and win it. The Vols are given a 56.7% chance to win at home. The Aggies have a 43.3% chance according to the metric.

Josh Heupel and company got revenge against South Carolina in Week 6 for what happened last season. The Gamecocks ended Tennessee’s chances of reaching the College Football Playoff with a 63-38 loss. Hendon Hooker also suffered a torn ACL, which ended his year.

With Conner Weigman expected to be out for the season with a foot injury, Max Johnson should start at quarterback for Jimbo Fisher. Johnson finished the Alabama game with 239 yards passing, 1 touchdown, and 1 interception.

The Texas A&M defense is no joke. The Aggies are allowing the fewest total offensive yards per game in the SEC with 268.8 each outing.

The two teams meet on Rocky Top Saturday for the first time since 2020. The all-time series is tied at 2-2.

The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff.
