ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) predicts the outcome of each college football game ahead of each weekend. With Week 9 behind us, the model has released its predictions for Week 10.

Included in the Week 10 predictions is the Vanderbilt-Auburn matchup. The model sees Auburn having the matchup advantage, giving the Tigers a 63.3% chance to win the game. This means the Commodores are getting just a 36.7% chance to pull off the upset in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Auburn will enter the game with a 3-5 overall record with a 1-4 mark in conference play. The team beat Kentucky in Week 9 to pick up their first conference win of the season.

Unfortunately for Auburn, the team has been unable to come out on top in close games. Of the team’s 5 losses, 4 were by 10 or fewer points. If the Tigers plan on returning to a bowl game, this matchup has to be considered a must-win.

The Tigers still have SEC clashes with Texas A&M and Alabama after Week 10.

Meanwhile, this Vanderbilt team has surprised many this season. The Commodores are sitting at 5-3 overall, with a 2-2 mark in SEC play. The team pulled off one of the year’s most surprising upsets when it defeated Alabama in Week 6.

Vanderbilt still has matchups with Tennessee and LSU after Week 10.

Auburn and Vanderbilt have played each other 44 times in history. The Tigers have 22 wins, the Commodores have 21, and the teams have tied once. These teams last played in 2023, when the Tigers won 31-15 in Nashville. Auburn won 13 in a row in the series from 1978-2007.

Kickoff from Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday is set for 12:45 p.m. ET.
