Florida State’s inability to land a QB in 2018 and 2019 recruiting cycles is historically staggering

The Florida State Seminoles are down to just one scholarship quarterback on their roster after dismissing 2018 starter Deondre Francois over the weekend and losing big-time target Lance LeGendre to Maryland on National Signing Day.
That leaves only James Blackman, who started in 2017 after Francois went down in Week 1, on the Noles’ roster, and there’s no help coming through the recruiting pipeline, either.
On Wednesday, the 2019 recruiting classes were finalized, and for the second-straight year, FSU has failed to sign a quarterback.
How surprising is that failure? Well, they’re the only Power 5 squad not to land a quarterback the past two seasons:
By my count, 121 high school quarterbacks signed with Power Five programs in the 2018 and 2019 recruiting cycles.
There are 65 Power Five programs (ND included).
FSU is the only P5 program that has yet to sign a high school QB in the past two cycles. https://t.co/buCpPDS63f

Don’t worry though — Taggart says he has a plan, even if he won’t discuss it:
Taggart on not signing a QB recruit for the second year in a row: "we have a plan. I think a pretty good plan. I don’t necessarily want to discuss it right now." #FSU

The Willie Taggart era is off to a rough start in Tallahassee, and not being able to bring talented quarterbacks into the mix is only going to make things worse.
It would be ridiculous if the Noles didn’t land a quarterback in the 2020 class, but we’ll see if Taggart can finally get the job done.
