According to the Reporter-Herald, former University of Alabama running back Dee Hart has decided to enter the NFL Draft.

Hart, who transferred to Colorado State before the 2014 season, still has a year of eligibility remaining, but had 1,275 rushing yards and scored 16 touchdowns.

“I’m going to declare for the draft,” Hart told the newspaper. “It was just a dream I always had growing up, and it’s an opportunity I have this season, so I want to take advantage of it.”

Hart had two knee surgeries at Alabama and was arrested for possession of marijuana and giving a false name to law enforcement last February. After earning his degree he transferred to play again for former Crimson Tide offensive coordinator Jim McElwain, who recently accepted the head coaching job at Florida.

“I think Colorado State went out on a limb and took me in a student and a player, it was a risk for them as well,” said Hart, who will train by himself in Tampa. “They didn’t know what I was going to be able to come in and do. I think it worked for both of us this season. It helped me, giving me the confidence back that I could play with the guys I used to play with.”
