Georgia's, Missouri's Twitter accounts were apparently suspended due to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
National Signing Day isn’t the time when teams want their Twitter accounts suspended, as they share the signees as they roll in from the fax machine.
However, Georgia’s and Missouri’s Twitter accounts were suspended Wednesday, along with Texas’ and USF’s, apparently due to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, per Sporting News. Accounts are automatically suspended after three violations.
Here’s a screenshot of the accounts before the athletic departments regained rights:
Yesterday it was Texas Football twitter that got suspended—today its @MizzouFootball… someone really hates the #TexasBowl… FREE #MIZZOU FOOTBALL TWITTER! pic.twitter.com/w392WeVrtW

Looks like @FootballUGA got hit recently as well—immediately after suspension you lose all your followers and follows,
But they are restored after a short period. (H/t @BassinDawg) pic.twitter.com/6U9ZqfmLRV— RedditCFB (@RedditCFB) February 7, 2018
You can actually look up the takedown notices on the Lumen Database by searching the accounts.
On Wednesday morning, Missouri staffer Shawn Davis said the suspension was due to “using copyrighted songs:”
Twitter dinged us and probably every other football account for using copyrighted songs. Been using them for years, but they just started making claims in the last week+
