WATCH: Greedy Williams lives up to the hype, while Jamel Dean moving up draft boards following Combine showing
Two of the fastest players to run at the 2019 NFL Combine hail from the SEC West.
The event saved some of the fastest players for after the weekend as defensive backs got to run the 40-yard dash from Indianapolis on Monday. So far, the fastest defensive back to run the 40 is none other than Auburn’s Jamel Dean. Dean clocked in at a blazing 4.31 on Monday.
That speed matches the best 40-yard time of the entire 2019 NFL Combine thus far.
If Dean wasn’t already on every team’s draft board, there’s no doubt he is after that impressive showing.

While Dean’s time turned some heads, LSU’s Greedy Williams already had the attention of every NFL team heading into the Combine. The star defensive back from Baton Rouge didn’t disappoint on Monday as Greedy turned in a 4.38 40-yard dash, which put him in the top three for defensive backs at the Combine. That time should be good for Williams to rest on and secure his place at the top of every NFL draft board.
