Greg Sankey knows that the SEC lives rent free in the heads of plenty of critics and haters.

The SEC commissioner has been in his position long enough to know that there are plenty of people that don’t like him or the SEC. Danny Kanell, a host for College Sports on Sirius XM, is notoriously anti-SEC, got a birthday wish from Sankey on Wednesday, and Sankey reminded him that he doesn’t care how people feel about the SEC.

“I block out the noise,” Sankey said on the show. “You and I always have fun visits when we see each other in person. It’s easy to light somebody up on Twitter, which I don’t normally do or on the radio, which I don’t typically do. So we’ll keep the space that we occupy for a low rent in other people’s minds there and keep moving along unapologetically.”

Sankey has been the commissioner of the SEC since 2016.
