“All my rowdy friends are back for Monday night.”

You’ll hear that theme song again in 2017.

Country music legend Hank Williams Jr. is back on Monday Night Football six years after ESPN dropped his popular intro following a few controversial remarks about then-President Obama, according to USA Today. Williams said then-House Speaker John Boehner playing golf with President Obama was “one of the biggest political mistakes ever,” and he also called Obama and then-Vice President Joe Biden “the enemy.”

“It would be like Hitler playing golf with [Israeli leader] Benjamin Netanyahu,” he then explained on Fox News’ Fox & Friends about Boehner playing golf with Obama.

Popular columnist Clay Travis has criticized ESPN for being too political and left wing, and in an interesting move, the network is bringing back Williams after losing his job because of his political comments.

ESPN knows that it will face some backlash, but it believes that enough time has passed to give Williams another shot at the gig.

“I’m sure there’ll be some [backlash], but I’m not concerned,”said Stephanie Druley, ESPN’s senior vice president of events and studio production to USA Today. “It was the right time. We discussed it internally and it was just the right time to bring him back.”

Just last week it was announced that ESPN had parted ways with popular NFL reporter and insider John Clayton as part of ongoing layoffs at the network.
