It appears ESPN has not finished with its most recent round of layoffs as senior NFL reporter John Clayton is reportedly the latest mainstay at the network to be let go.

According to Michael McCarthy of The Sporting News, Clayton is the next huge name to leave the sports media network.

Clayton joined ESPN in 1995. Aside from his numerous appearances on ESPN’s NFL coverage, whether it’s on television, radio, in print or online, Clayton also hosts a show on ESPN Radio’s Seattle, 710 ESPN Seattle. Clayton has hosted the Seattle radio show since 1990.

Clayton is also among the few writers to be inducted into the writer’s wing in Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. Clayton is also a recipient of the Dick McCann Memorial Award — voted on by the Pro Football Writers of America and annually recognizing one member of the PFWA for distinguished service.

While Clayton was one of our personal favorites on ESPN, he was also well known for this SportsCenter commercial, which showed off his ability to poke fun at himself and his video spots for ESPN.
