College basketball season is heating up with conference tournaments across the nation just a month away from tipping off.

Now that the majority of the college basketball regular season is in the books, ESPN analyst Jay Bilas has a feel for which Southeastern Conference teams have a shot to make some noise this offseason. In a recent post over at ESPN.com, Bilas ranked each SEC contender into tiers.

Listed below are the five tiers labeled by Bilas and where each SEC contender currently ranks. The rankings below are how Bilas ranks the teams nationally, not their current position in any national polls.

Tier one: National championship favorites

Tier two: Final Four contenders

#13 LSU

Tier Three: Second-weekend contenders

#23 Auburn

#28 Mississippi State

Tier four: NCAA tournament-worthy teams

#31 Ole Miss

#40 Florida

Tier five: Scratching for at-large berths

#46 Alabama
