Jaylen Heyward will announce his college football commitment on Friday afternoon.

The 5-foot-11.5 safety from Rockledge (Fla.) is a 4-star recruit, considered by 247Sports to be the No. 3 player in the country at his position and the No. 9 player in the state of Florida. He is also ranked as the No. 34 player nationally and is easily one of the most coveted recruits in the 2024 cycle.

Heyward currently holds 34 offers, and on his Twitter account on Thursday, he announced his 4 finalists. Three of the 4 programs are in the SEC: Alabama, Florida, and Georgia. Those 3 will need to beat out B1G school Ohio State if they’re to add the elite DB recruit to their backfield.

As a junior at Rockledge High School, Heyward totaled 44 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 8 passes deflected. He was also used as a running back, where he recorded 350 yards and 2 touchdowns on 42 carries. The Raiders went 9-3 in the 2022 season.
