College football head coaches make a lot of money, and their salaries keep rising every year. But on Friday, FOX analyst Joel Klatt released a video where he explained why these coaches are actually worth the money.

During his video segment for FOX College Football, Klatt referenced the USA TODAY report that 16 college football head coaches make more than $5 million. He went on to use TCU’s Gary Patterson, who makes just shy of $5 million, as an example as why most, if not all those head coaches, are worth the money.

“That is a LOT of money, and I’m not here to tell you that it’s not,” said Klatt. “I am here to tell you that if you’re hiring that person for that job, is that about what their value is? I would argue that that is correct…

“The front porch of your university is the football program. The face of the football program is the head coach.”
