John Calipari is gearing up for his first trip to Lexington since leaving Kentucky last spring.

His Arkansas team will make the trip next weekend with the Razorbacks and Wildcats set to meet in primetime next Saturday night.

“Yeah, there will be some emotion walking into that building,” Calipari said. “And really being in town. I’ll probably get together with some of my friends. They’re playing good. We’ve got our hands full. Let’s see what happens.”

While Calipari’s time at UK didn’t necessarily end on a high note, he did accomplish a lot during his tenure. He led Kentucky to 6 SEC Tournament titles, 6 SEC regular season championships, 4 trips to the Final Four and 1 National Championship.

Calipari departed as 1 of 2 coaches in Kentucky history with more than 400 victories at the program — the other being Adolph Rupp.

As for the game itself, Kentucky is likely to be a big favorite over the Razorbacks. Arkansas has just 1 SEC win so far this season and recently lost point guard Boogie Fland to a season-ending injury. Kentucky is off to a solid start under Mark Pope and is 14-5 on the season.

Tipoff for Arkansas-Kentucky is set for 9 p.m. ET on Saturday night.
