One of Les Miles’ first big decisions as Kansas’s head coach regarded star RB Pooka Williams, who was suspended all spring for an alleged domestic violence incident.

However, in terms of how it’ll impact his 2019 season, Williams will only be suspended for one game — against an FCS opponent.

Naturally, at Big 12 Media Days on Monday, Miles was asked about the seemingly light punishment. He responded by saying violence against women will never be tolerated, but also said it wasn’t his decision:

The part about it not being his decision is strange. Head coaches need to be responsible for what goes on in their programs.

The action was taken, though, and despite the outcry from the public, it seems the one-game suspension will stand for Williams.
