Aren’t you glad all the preseason chatter is nearly over, and actual games on the field will determine the best four teams that will make the College Football Playoff?

Prior to the start of the season, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit said, “I’ve got Michigan State in the final four. I do. UCLA, Michigan State, Alabama, Florida State.”

Now, after actual football, Herbstreit is singing a different tune, and he’s updated his playoff teams: No. 4 Texas A&M, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 2 Florida State and No. 1 Georgia. Below is his updated College Football Playoff Final Four, via ESPN:

Here’s what Herbstreit said about Texas A&M and Georgia:

“No. 4 Texas A&M. After what they did on the road Thursday night in Columbia on the road at South Carolina, you got to have them in the top four,” Herbstreit said.

“And No. 1, the Georgia Bulldogs played a very athletic Clemson team, and Todd Gurley had a great start to the season, along with Hutson Mason. So, the Dawgs after week one, I would put up at No. 1.”

Personally, I think Herbstreit is overlooking one SEC team after Week 1.
