It might not feel like it, but we’re now through Week 8 of the 2019 college football season.

In Week 8, we saw a top-10 team fall to an unranked opponent and Tennessee hang with No. 1 Alabama, which lost Tua Tagovailoa to injury, longer than many expected. The six remaining AP Top 10 undefeated teams look like strong College Football Playoff contenders. ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit has shared his new top six, with a focus on the CFP field (Nos. 1-4 and next two in line).

For those following Herbie’s top teams week-to-week, it’s the same top 4 from last week. There’s no change at the top spot as Ohio State was also his No. 1 last week. LSU, however, moved up from No. 4 to No. 2 after its 36-13 win at Mississippi State. Alabama is down one spot (from No. 2 to No. 3). Clemson, Herbstreit’s No. 3 last week, is at No. 4 after Saturday.

Herbstreit still has Oklahoma as an “on-the-outside-looking-in” No. 5. After Wisconsin’s upset loss to Illinois, Herbstreit has made Penn State his new No. 6.
