Kirk Herbstreit revealed his list of the top individual performers from Week 5 Monday afternoon on social media.
The College GameDay analyst was high on the SEC this week with his list of top individual teams, and the players’ list was not much different.
No. 1 is a fairly easy answer: It’s Ray Davis, who rushed for seemingly just under a trillion yards (280, same thing) and 3 touchdowns against Florida, adding a touchdown reception as well. Davis planted himself firmly in the Heisman race – though there’s plenty of work to be done – Saturday against the Gators.
Flanking Davis are Georgia’s Brock Bowers, Ole Miss’ Jaxson Dart and Mizzou’s Brady Cook. Check out the rest of the inclusions on his list below:

Let’s start with the QBs. Cook and Dart have been 2 of the top signal callers in the SEC this season. Dart had an otherworldly performance in a 55-49 win over LSU, throwing for 389 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Cook had similar numbers, throwing for 395 yards with 4 touchdowns against a bad Vanderbilt secondary. The Tigers have looked great to start the season, but we’ll find out if they’re for real against LSU this weekend.
Bowers would have been No. 1 just about any other week after taking over in the 2nd half against Auburn. He had the highest receiving half of his career Saturday against the Tigers and finished with 8 receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown.
It’s important to stress that even despite amazing numbers, that box score does not tell the full story of his dominance Saturday. He was making one-handed catches, barreling over people and almost single-handily willed the Bulldogs offense to the win in the 2nd half.
He’ll be shining on Sundays very soon.
