And it showed on Sunday.
While most college sports fans were gearing up for “Selection Sunday”, which is arguably college basketball’s most exciting day of the year, Herbstreit was calling the sport out for its lack of intrigue for the rest of the year.
It started innocently enough, with Herbstreit weighing in on what was a tremendous SEC tournament championship game between Texas A&M and Kentucky.

That drew a snarky response from random Twitter guy, who basically called Herbie out for being one of the guys that only care about college basketball in March.

Not missing a beat, Herbstreit retorted with a sharp indictment of the game.
That's me. Sport is lame until this week. Become a 4 week sport. https://t.co/cMt9HXRmXv

There is certainly an argument to be made against what Herbstreit said, but there’s no doubt that this is one area that college football has nailed. Each and every week of the season has you on the edge of your seat, from the beginning to the end.
And for that, we’re thankful. How much longer until September, again?
