Week 9 of the college football season is officially in the books, and we’re heading into the final month.

November is a time when championships are won, and right now, it appears that the SEC East and West will be decided in the next two weekends. Florida and Georgia play Saturday, November 2, while LSU and Alabama play November 9. The winners of those two games will likely play in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game.

Right now, LSU has a strong case to be the No. 1 team in the country. The Tigers have beaten three top 10 teams all before November, and it’s the first time in SEC history that that’s ever happened this quickly. LSU’s latest victim was Auburn Saturday.

Where does Kirk Herbstreit currently rank LSU? The College GameDay analyst has the Tigers ranked No. 2 behind Ohio State. The Buckeyes lead the way for Herbstreit, as OSU thumped a good Wisconsin team Saturday. The debate between Alabama, LSU and Ohio State will really start to heat up.

Herbstreit ranks Alabama No. 3 following the blowout win over Arkansas, and Clemson ranks No. 4.

However, Herbstreit included Florida as his No. 6 team this week. The Gators were on a bye Saturday before its showdown against Georgia on November 2.
