Laura Rutledge announces return to SEC Nation
“SEC Nation” is getting its host back.
Laura Rutledge, who has been out recently for maternity leave, announced on social media this week that she would return for the show this week at LSU ahead of the Auburn game. Rutledge gave birth earlier this month to a daughter, Reese Katherine Rutledge.
During her time away from television, Rutledge has kept up with news and events in college football and the NFL, as she regularly posted updates and opinions on social media.
In September, Rutledge took time away from ESPN and the SEC Network because of doctor’s orders ahead of her planned exit. Marty Smith has filled in on the “SEC Nation” set alongside Paul Finebaum, Marcus Spears and Tim Tebow for the SEC Network pregame show.
Rutledge is a prominent figure on the SEC Network and ESPN, and is involved with shows like “SEC Nation,” “Get Up,” “The Paul Finebaum Show,” and she was set to be a sideline reporter on an NFL game before doctor’s orders kept her home.
So excited to be back with my guys this week at one of my favorite places. See you soon Baton Rouge! @mspears96 @TimTebow @finebaum @MartySmithESPN @ESPNMcGee https://t.co/xoVpz4J5sB
