A Razorbacks staff member tried to get a decommitment from an A&M recruit ahead of Saturday’s matchup, but the exchange did not go as planned.

It appears the unnamed Texas A&M commit had inquired with Arkansas’ staff about attending the game in Arlington. Daniel Bush, Arkansas’ Football Director of Personnel, replied and said it would take a decommitment tweet from the player in order to be put on the list. The A&M commit turned down the offer.

While it is an awkward look for the Razorbacks, there are a couple of details to consider. Arkansas does have a policy in place that prohibits any player who has committed to Arkansas from making an official visit to another school without Arkansas’ approval. The Razorbacks will traditionally ask a commit to decommit from Arkansas if the recruit wishes to visit other schools.

Saturday is a neutral-site game being played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but Arkansas is the designated home team for this season’s matchup. This means that A&M, as the designated visiting team, is not allowed to host recruits at the game.

Kickoff Saturday is set for 12 pm EST on ESPN.
