LOOK: Georgia fans blast Dan Mullen after QB Jalon Jones enters transfer portal
Dan Mullen hasn’t been shy about trolling Georgia since taking over as the Florida Gators’ head coach last season, but now one of his shots at the Bulldogs is coming back to bite him.
On Tuesday night, 4-star 2019 early enrollee QB Jalon Jones entered the NCAA transfer portal after only one spring in Gainesville.
Naturally, that brought to light a quote that Mullen had recently in which he seemed to be trolling the Dawgs for the Justin Fields situation:

Naturally, Georgia fans took to Twitter to make sure Mullen’s quote wasn’t forgotten:
“I’d think we did a poor job recruiting if guys were coming in and then immediately walking out the door” -Dan Mullen after Justin Fields transferred-.

This quote did not age particularly well considering Jalon Jones transferred after only 15 practices.

Justin Fields transferred because he couldn’t beat out Jake Fromm. It’s that simple. And check this out, I don’t blame Jalon Jones for transferring either. It’s just that everything that Dan Mullen has said, has bitten him in the butt.

Jones was the No. 10 dual-threat quarterback in the 2019 class and the No. 9 overall recruit from the state of Virginia, per the 247Sports composite.
