Marcus Downs is a 3-star defensive lineman in the 2024 recruiting class and one of the top prospects out of South Carolina for the cycle. On Tuesday, he updated his recruitment with a top 5 list moving forward.

Downs kept Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee as SEC programs still in the mix moving forward. Georgia Tech and UNC out of the ACC are also included.

Prior to updating his recruitment, Downs generated a number of Power 5 offers from Arkansas, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Miami and others. He’s listed at 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds out of Riverside High School in Greer, South Carolina.

According to the 247 Sports Composite, Downs is a 3-star recruit and the 54th DL in the country for the class of 2024. He’s also rated as the No. 8 player out of South Carolina.
