If you are one of the last remaining holdouts believing recruiting rankings don’t matter, this list may be the thing that finally wins you over.

Last week, following the conclusion of the 2017 edition of SEC Media Days from Hoover, Ala., the SEC revealed the media’s player selections for first-, second- and third-team offense, defense and special teams units.

We went back and researched the recruiting ranking of each First-Team selection and were surprised that only one non-specialist failed to rank as a four-star prospect before enrolling at his respective SEC school (Marquis Haynes was a three-star out of Fork Union Military Academy).
