When we look back at the 2016 offseason, we’ll remember it as Jim Harbaugh vs. the SEC.

On Wednesday, Arkansas’ Bret Bielema joked about attending one of Michigan’s practices at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., before Michigan State’s Mark Dantonio and Tennessee’s Butch Jones chimed in to see if they could arrange lunch in Florida.

Bielema revealed that he was denied by the NCAA this morning.

A few hours later, Harbaugh had something to say, specifically to Jones.

Keep in mind, the Wolverines coach felt the itch to respond to Jones for more than one reason.

The obvious one is that Jones and the University of Tennessee have a lot on their plate with regards to the ongoing Title IX lawsuit. In connection with that, a former player recently accused Jones of telling the athlete he “betrayed the team” for helping an alleged rape victim.

The other thing that likely drew Harbaugh’s ire is that Jones offered scholarships to 20 players spanning three different classes at IMG Academy last Friday, according to IMG head coach Kevin Wright.

As always, we’ll keep you updated on this never-ending battle.
