Ranking the 5 most exciting SEC plays of Week 5
Storms across the Southeast on Saturday may as well have been an omen for the exciting plays to come on Week 5.
Rainy conditions due to Hurricane Joaquin may have contributed to a blocked punt in Athens. Other plays, though, like a crazy touchdown at Faurot Field, can’t be explained.
Here are the five most exciting plays of Week 5:
5. Fitzpatrick Scoop ‘N Score
#Alabama freshman Minkah Fitzpatrick blocks the punt and runs it in for the score! #RollTide #BAMAvsUGA https://t.co/SoNpwZ62ln

Special teams players deserve some top play love, too. Alabama freshman Minkah Fitzpatrick somehow goes unblocked as Georgia tries to punt the ball. Fitzpatrick’s score was just one of many disasters for the Bulldogs.
4. Evan Berry returns the opening kick to the house

Gosh, Berry is fun to watch. He took the opening kickoff in the Arkansas-Tennessee game 96 yards for a touchdown.
3. Fournette finds the edge

We left Leonard Fournette off this list last week, and not for a lack of big runs. But the LSU running back has owned the big play this season, and this 75-yard touchdown to open the second half certainly qualifies as “big.”
2. Towles comes up big again
Kentucky was down 14 with 5 minutes left.
Then Patrick Towles did this » 4th & Goal. Down 7. TOUCHDOWN @UKFootball! pic.twitter.com/QO0Vp0zfP1

Kentucky quarterback Patrick Towles certainly has a thing for flair. After an impressive red zone touchdown last week against Missouri, Towles again had a huge play in a critical spot for the Wildcats. And let’s not forget the great grab by Kentucky WR Dorian Baker.
1. Hot potato
Stuff like this is happening in Columbia https://t.co/25KQL5xLKi

This is just stupid. South Carolina QB Lorenzo Nunez is about to get sacked, telegraphs a ball into the hands of a Missouri defender and, somehow, the Gamecocks get the touchdown.
Yeah, things get wild when these teams play each other.
