No replacements needed: NCAA VP of basketball announces all 68 teams good to go for 2021 March Madness

The NCAA’s Senior Vice President of Basketball Dan Gavitt just shared some great news, all 68 teams that were selected to compete in the 2021 NCAA Tournament are good to go.

The entire tournament is taking place in and around Indianapolis but the final confirmation of the latest March Madness field was not finalized until all 68 teams passed COVID tests.

With that issue resolved, all 68 teams are set to start the 2021 NCAA Tournament with the play-in games starting on Thursday.

The official first round of the tournament is set to begin on Friday with Florida, Arkansas and Tennessee all playing on opening day.

Alabama, Missouri and LSU are set to open the tournament on Saturday.

SEC Tournament schedule for Friday:

#7 Florida vs. #10 Virginia Tech 12:15 p.m. ET/11:15 a.m. CT on CBS

#3 Arkansas vs. #14 Colgate at 12:45 p.m. ET/11:45 a.m CT on truTV

#5 Tennessee vs. #12 Oregon State  at 4:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. CT on TNT

SEC Tournament schedule for Saturday:

#8 LSU vs. #9 St. Bonaventure at 1:45 p.m. ET/12:45 p.m. CT on TNT

#2 Alabama vs. #15 Iona at 4 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. CT on TBS

#9 Missouri vs. #8 Oklahoma  at 7:25 p.m. ET/6:25 p.m. CT on TNT
