The SEC sent several talented running backs off to the NFL this year, but not all of them will have huge impacts as rookies this fall.

However, some of them are bound to affect games when the 2018 season kicks off, and on Wednesday, NFL.com’s Gil Brandt — a former NFL GM — ranked the seven he thinks can contribute right away.

Unsurprisingly, there were several SEC selections on the list, starting with former LSU RB Derrius Guice.

  • No. 2 — Derrius Guice, Washington Redskins
  • No. 4 — Kerryon Johnson, Detroit Lions
  • No. 5 — Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns
  • No. 6 — Sony Michel, New England Patriots

Naturally, No. 2 overall pick Saquon Barkley leads the way, and the New York Giants will be counting on him to have a huge rookie campaign.

The SEC rookies on this list could also step into big roles right away, and it’ll be fun to watch who separates themselves from the rest of the pack.
