Ole Miss fans throw trash on field after controversial LSU TD call

Ole Miss fans weren’t happy with a controversial TD call in the fourth quarter of a tight game against LSU in Oxford on Saturday night.

After review, the ruling of a TD catch stood as called, leading to boos from the Rebels faithful. But, as we’ve seen all too often in recent years, fans went too far.

Here’s a look at the controversial TD grab by LSU’s Brian Thomas:

As you can see below, there was a fair amount of trash thrown on the field after the call by the refs.

Considering Tennessee fans threw trash on the field after a controversial call against Ole Miss at Neyland Stadium last year, Vol Twitter was quick to point fingers at Rebel fans.

ESPN’s Robert Griffin III agreed with Ole Miss fans that it shouldn’t have been a touchdown. But you can’t throw trash on the field. Boo all you want, but fans should never throw things on the field.

Ole Miss scored on the ensuing possession to make it 49-47 with 5 minutes left.
