It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

With that in mind, here is at least one gift every SEC team is celebrating this time of year:

Alabama: Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide are celebrating the fact that if it weren’t for this incredible conversion on 4th-and-25, Ole Miss — and not Alabama — might have won the SEC West and gotten a rematch against Florida in the conference championship game. This play truly epitomizes the word gift.

Arkansas: Bret Bielema is celebrating the fact that he is married to the lovely Mrs. Bielema. Some people might even say that he outkicked his coverage.

Auburn: The Tigers are celebrating the fact that Will Muschamp is no longer their defensive coordinator. Auburn was actually worse on ‘D’ this year than it was last year under Ellis Johnson. Bah humbug!

Florida: The Tigers are celebrating the opening of their indoor practice facility this past August. That and the fact that they play in the SEC East.

Georgia: The Bulldogs are celebrating the fact that five-star QB Jacob Eason has recommitted to them. But Nick Chubb’s year of eligibility left might be an even bigger gift.

Kentucky: The Wildcats are celebrating the fact that teams no longer need 6 wins to qualify for bowls. Kentucky’s 5-7 record this year wasn’t enough, but hey, there’s always 2016.

LSU: The Tigers are celebrating the fact that Leonard Fournette can’t go the NFL yet. And most of them seem to celebrating the fact that Les Miles is still their coach. That’s right, most of them.

Mississippi State: The Bulldogs are celebrating the fact that even though Dak Prescott is graduating, he was one of only 6 senior starters this year. That means plenty of players are coming back. Deck the Halls to that!

Missouri: The Bulldogs are celebrating the fact that they have a new offensive coordinator in Josh Heupel. It’s easy to celebrate any kind of change when your offense was next to last nationally in scoring at 13.6 points per game.

Ole Miss: The Rebels are celebrating the fact that QB Chad Kelly can’t declare for the NFL Draft until Jan. 15. Hopefully nothing happens to either Nkdemdiche brother between now and then.

South Carolina: The Gamecocks are celebrating the fact that their 2015 season is over. Apparently all they want for Christmas is a defensive line coach.

Tennessee: The Volunteers are celebrating their first 8-win season since 2007.  That and the fact the SEC East looks like it will be theirs for the taking next year.

Texas A&M: The Aggies are celebrating the fact that Jake Hubenak, who used to be their third-string QB, hasn’t decided to transfer yet. But if he does, let’s hope he doesn’t take his girlfriend with him.

Vanderbilt: The Commodores are celebrating the fact that Derek Mason is coaching their defense. One of their New Year’s resolutions is to find some semblance of an offense.
