Who are the top four teams in college football?

There may only be about six teams with a legitimate shot to win the College Football Playoff through four weeks.

From the SEC, there are three teams that quickly come to mind, and all of them won Saturday. Alabama torched Southern Miss, LSU outscored Vanderbilt and Georgia held on against Notre Dame.

Paul Finebaum joined SportsCenter Sunday morning, and he ranked his top four teams after Week 4:

  • 1. Clemson Tigers: “Playing Charlotte? You can’t knock them down even though some try. Clemson is the No. 1 team in the country.”
  • 2. Alabama Crimson Tide: “What do you make of Alabama? They just keep rolling, and they have yet to run into a really good team. That will be a while, probably like two months.
  • 3. Georgia Bulldogs: “I thought about moving them up, but I thought they were going to kill Notre Dame. I’m going to refrain from my optimism. At No. 3, they are a fantastic team, and that was a big-time match.”
  • 4. LSU Tigers: “Joey Burrow had a Heisman-like day against Vanderbilt. Burrow and the LSU Tigers are going to be heard from later on.”

Finebaum also added Wisconsin as a team to watch moving forward.
