Pro Football Focus unveiled its rankings list for the top 10 college football quarterbacks, and it resulted in many reactions to the list.

Critics questioned the order of the list and even spotted some omissions from the list. PFF college football analyst Anthony Treash curated the list that caused a stir in the college football community.

Of the 10 quarterbacks, the list included 2 from the SEC:

  • No. 1 – Bryce Young, Alabama
  • No. 3 – Spencer Rattler, South Carolina

Young was ranked at the top spot on the list, which was not a problem for many people. The problems with the list were with 2 through 10. Southern Cal QB Caleb Williams made the list at No. 2 and Rattler was right behind Williams at No. 3.  People were surprised by Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud being listed behind Williams and Rattler at No. 4.

Young won the Heisman Trophy in 2021, while Stroud finished fourth in the voting. Stroud is among the preseason favorites for the 2022 award.

Fans pointed out how Kentucky QB Will Levis did not make the list. Levis is expected to have an impressive season for the Wildcats. Pittsburgh fans had an issue with transfer quarterback Kedon Slovis being referred to as a USC quarterback. Slovis transferred to Pitt in December 2021.
