Opening lines released for SEC's Week 4 games
The wait is finally over, the highlight of the Southeastern Conference’s regular season schedule will be played on Saturday in Tuscaloosa.
No. 3 Georgia is set to take on No. 2 Alabama in Bryant-Denny Stadium with a nationally televised audience on CBS.
The game is so big, CBS moved the game from its traditional 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT timeslot to 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT.
LSU’s upcoming trip to Florida lost some luster after both of those teams lost on Saturday but you know each fan base will be dying to win that game, especially after Dan Mullen called for The Swamp to open up this weekend.
The betting lines were just released for each of the seven matchups in the SEC next weekend, courtesy of Las Vegas-based Circa Sports.
Here are the lines Circa Sports just released for Week 4 in the SEC:
Bama by a TD over the Dawgs. Sounds a little low :-)
Since when is a TD worth five points?
Auburn -2.5 over SC…
Tennessee -6.5 over Kentucky…
LSU +13… Florida wins by about 10..
Ole Miss -3 Over Arkansas…
Texas A&M -6 over Miss St…
Missouri -17 over Vandy…
Bama -6 over Georgia… Bama wins by about 10…
The way Kentucky’s offense played against MSU, Tennessee should be a 21 point favorite.
Who knows what the spreads should be. About the only thing that has been consistent is the over. Vols have to get over a very disappointing second half vs UGA. I think they will be ready but I though the O line would show up vs UGA too.
I’d take that TAMU line all day long.
I just hope our lines on both sides can manage theirs… Our o-line really showed up yesterday against uf but MSU has very stout guys in the trenches.
That’s a little low for Georgia-Bama. I honestly expect Bama to cover that line.
Bama 28-20.
Our offense is still a work in progress. It’s gonna take another few weeks before it gets up to speed.
We’ll see them again in December.
Yeah, I was picturing 28-24 for Bama but that’s probably more wishful thinking on my part
Pretty solid prediction. Saban’s one of the few defensive guys out there who’s a little better than Smart with halftime adjustments to stymie an offense. Probably looking at something like a 20-13 halftime score leading to a 27-20 win methinks.
Ordinarily, I would agree with the above two commenters. However, after having watched Ole Miss nearly score at will, I’m not sure this won’t go down to the wire. I know that the offense is a work in progress, and I know that Bennett is still less than 6′ 0″, but I’m not betting against that kid either. Betting lines aren’t the final score, and I’ll wait to see it play out. Let’s see what Mac Jones does with constant pressure. Go Dawgs!
Vandy is bad and has a very depleted roster, I get it. Mizzou is the better team, although I was not as certain of that before Saturday.
But getting north of two TDs against any SEC opponent makes me very nervous especially coming off a hugely emotional win. If Mizzou really does come in and dominate like this line suggests it might be time to really believe in Mizzou, and think about making a push to. 500 or better that would have seemed unthinkable a week ago..
But there is danger here, I think. Mizzou had better approach Vandy exactly the same as LSU, or forget covering, they’ll be the one taking a huge upset in their turn.
17 seems like a big number to me, too. Especially, like you said, after coming off that big and emotional win vs LSU. I’d take Mizzou to win, but Vandy to cover.
Florida (-13). Something like 51-38? But if the same LSU defense shows up, look for Florida to cover.
Both offenses are great, both defense are horrible. Which defense shows up will get the team win. This game can go either way.
I’ve been a Bama fan as long as I can remember (Lee Roy Jordan days) but the Crimson Tide I saw yesterday is not going to beat Georgia by 5 or 6. They may win by 2 or 3, but honestly, this should be a pick ‘em except for the fact that the bookies care more about enticing bettors than setting the line at how each team is performing.
Take Georgia. This game screams field goals. Not calling a winner but I believe it will be a field goal that wins or loses this game.
If I were a CFB gambler, I think the first few weeks of the 2020 season would have cured me of it.
The only way Florida beats lsu by 10 is if Todd Can’tcoachem gets lost on the way to the stadium. He might just accomplish that because he can’t find a way to get his head out of his a$$
Bet your whole entire bank account on Mizzou. You will be very rich and can thank me later.
Florida -13 means we have to stop them at least twice: no brainer take LSU with the points here
LSWho offense is terrible.
Florida defense is terrible
Ed orgy run on hot seat. Tood Grantham is on hot seat.
A terrible offense a terrible defense and 2 hot seats!. Interesting combination
Even if we get the ball 8 times and score 7 tds it won’t be enough to win by 13.
LSU getting no respect. Coach O is finding out how hard it is to maintain excellence.
Almost even money vs a team that put over 40 on Bama. I’d say Arkansas is gettin’ a little love. Hope they live up to it (or surpass expectations and pull the upset). Ol’ Mizzou spoke wisdom, could be a trap game for the Columbus Tigers. Were I a betting man A&M -7 would be the game I drop my dough on. The Ags are riding a high and the Pirate is trying to figure out how to make the air raid work in a league that plays defense. (yeah, I know defenses are lacking this season, but still stiffer than the conferences CML has been coaching in. I must admit, this season is actually proving to be kinda fun. No tune ups, every one thrown to the wolves from game one, and after three weeks we still aren’t sure what to expect. SEC SEC SEC !!!!
