Maybe you thought the Kentucky-Louisville rivalry doesn’t stack up to the other ones on rivalry week that get so much attention like the Iron Bowl or Sunshine Showdown or The Game.

Well, maybe not, but it can obviously make someone punch his grandparents in the face.

A 21-year-old man did exactly that partly because the Wildcats lost the annual rivalry game with the Cardinals over the weekend, according to police.

After the game, which saw Kentucky surrender a 21-0 lead and get outscored 38-3 the rest of the way, LMPD officers were called to the 100 block of Blue Fields Road on Saturday after its conclusion. That’s where Conner Karem “became violent after a brief discussion regarding salad,” according to his arrest report.

After Karem punched his grandfather, he “proceeded to repeatedly punch his grandmother, even after she fell to the floor,” the report said.

Although Karem suffers from seasonal depression and Asperger’s, he is fully functional from what his family told police.

Karem left the home but later returned as police arrived and began investigating. Karem spit on one officer before likely getting himself in more trouble later on by saying, “You’re lucky it wasn’t a gun,” according to the report.

Karem faces multiple charges for the incident.
