Good news, the Power Rank is back for another season of predicting NFL and college football games.

If you are unfamiliar with the Power Rank, it’s the creation of Stanford Ph.D. graduate and analytics expert Ed Feng. Feng uses his system to predict outcomes in professional and college sports.

The Power Rank does not project games against FCS opponents, yet it accurately predicts winners over 73 percent of the time.

With the SEC playing a conference-only schedule this season, The Power Rank will be projecting every game that an SEC team plays for the first time ever in 2020.

Here is how The Power Rank predicts the Week 1 action to play out in the SEC between FBS competition:

  • South Carolina will beat Tennessee by 1 point. The Vols have a 47 percent chance of winning this game on the road.
  • Florida will beat Ole Miss by 6.9 points. The Rebels have a 30 percent chance of winning this game at home.
  • Auburn will beat Kentucky by 13.9 points. The Wildcats have a 16 percent chance of winning this game on the road.
  • LSU will beat Mississippi State by 18 points. The Bulldogs have a 10 percent chance of winning this game on the road.
  • Alabama will beat Missouri by 17.8 points. The Tigers have an 11 percent chance of winning this game at home.
  • Georgia will beat Arkansas by 20.2 points. The Razorbacks have an 8 percent chance of winning this game at home.
  • Texas A&M will beat Vanderbilt by 15.5 points. The Commodores have a 13 percent chance of winning this game on the road.
