Both Alabama and Auburn took a step toward filling out their future schedules on Thursday. According to a report from FootballSchedules.com, both Alabama universities scheduled the Georgia State Panthers for a future game.

Alabama will host GSU in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 12, 2020. UA will reportedly pay Georgia State $1.2 million for the visit. Auburn will host the Panthers on Sept. 25, 2021 at Jordan Hare Stadium and will reportedly pay GSU $1.25 million for the game.

Alabama has faced GSU in the past; the Crimson Tide hold a 2-0 mark, with the most recent win coming in 2013. Auburn has yet to play the Panthers.

Georgia State is a relatively new FBS team, having joined the Sun Belt Conference in 2013. In its history, GSU has played three games against SEC teams; in addition to its 0-2 record against Alabama, the Panthers also lost at Tennessee in 2012. GSU was in the news recently for its first round upset victory in the NCAA basketball tournament.
