According to a report by The Advocate, McKinley High School senior QB Bryant Lee, 18, died from a gunshot wound early Saturday morning.

Bryant was one of three people who suffered gunshot wounds, and it was the second time this year that Lee had been shot. The first time he was shot in a drive-by in November.

Here’s the report from the paper on what happened early Saturday morning:

Saturday’s shooting happened around 2 a.m. in the 1100 block of Sparrow Street near Kingfisher Avenue and the other two victims suffered minor injuries, EMS spokesman Mike Chustz said. Lee was shot once in the head, Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman Sgt. L’Jean McKneely said.

McKinley High School head coach Ken Hilton expressed that Bryant was a good kid.

“This was not a young man who was in and out of trouble or some gang thing,” Hilton said. “It was a kid who in my eyes was a good kid. Everything he said was ‘no, sir’ or ‘yes, sir’ and shook your hand.”

McKinley was set to graduate Wednesday and had a 3.5 GPA. He was the school’s starting QB.

“He had that it factor where he could rally the kids and lead the group,” Hilton said of Lee. “He led by example. He never missed a workout.”
