There will be a shortage of SEC football this coming weekend, as matchups between Alabama and LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M, and Auburn and Mississippi State were postponed due to COVID-19 issues among some of these teams.

Alabama and LSU were set to play on Saturday afternoon’s “SEC on CBS” game, but John Talty of AL.com is reporting that CBS is not going to air an SEC game after the announcement of the postponement.

It is not the first time this season that an SEC game is moved due to COVID-19, but it is the first time this season Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson will not be calling a game on CBS.

It will be a strange adjustment for SEC fans to make this weekend, but let’s hope this is the only time the primetime broadcast does not take place this season.

The current SEC Week 8 schedule is as follows:

  • Georgia at Missouri – noon ET on ESPN
  • Vanderbilt at Kentucky – noon ET on the SEC Network
  • Arkansas at Florida – 7 p.m. ET on ESPN
  • South Carolina at Ole Miss – 7:30 p.m. ET on the SEC Network
