Miami DC Manny Diaz is reportedly being hired by Temple to replace Geoff Collins as the head coach of the Owls, meaning Mark Richt has a key position on his staff to fill.

It appears Richt could be looking to a familiar name to fill Diaz’s spot on the staff, and it would be interesting to see this happen.

Per Miami reporter Susan Miller Degnan, Richt is looking at former Auburn and Ole Miss coach Tommy Tuberville as a potential replacement for Diaz:

Tuberville hasn’t been in college football the past two seasons after resigning as the coach of Cincinnati following the 2016 season.

He’s been a broadcaster the past two years, and even mulled a run for Alabama’s governorship, but now it seems he could be back on the sidelines. Interestingly, he served as Miami’s defensive coordinator back in 1993 after being a Hurricanes assistant from 1986 to 1992.
