Report: Greg Sankey may soon have the power to prevent another LSU-Florida debacle
One of the biggest controversies in the 2016 SEC season was the Hurricane Matthew-related postponement of the LSU-Florida game in Gainesville.
Neither side could agree on a new date for the game, leading to it being moved later in the season in Baton Rouge after much debate and discussion.
However, in future years, SEC commissioner Greg Sankey may be able to handle all rescheduling needs, taking things out of the hands of school administration.
Sankey already has the support of the athletic directors, and Scott Rabalais of The Advocate says university presidents will vote on the matter in March:

Frankly, the fact that something like this isn’t already in the commissioner’s powers is surprising. Here’s hoping the presidents support the measure and help prevent another weather-related debacle from occurring in the future.
