He Hate Me. Chuckwagon. Death Blow. Mantis.

We all remember the best nicknames from the short-lived XFL, which was started by WWE’s Vince McMahon back in 2001 and lasted all of one season before folding.

The league boasted a sleek black and red football, no fair catches and no extra-point kicks, but it just never gained the popularity it needed to succeed.

However, McMahon may be considering bringing the XFL back, according to Brad Shepard:

Will the XFL fare better if it gets a second chance? That remains to be seen, but the NFL certainly isn’t popular at the moment.

The XFL may need to do away with its no fair catch rule, though, as CTE continues to be a bigger concern among football players. Still, it would be nice to see more college players get a chance to continue their careers, so the XFL’s return could indeed be a good thing.
